ISPM15

International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM15)

Timber pallets, cases and crates are the most predominantly used form of transit packaging in the distribution and trade of goods globally. However, because timber is an organic material, there is a real risk of transferring pests or wood and forest diseases from one country to another via infested unprocessed raw wood which could potentially have devastating environmental effects. To prevent the risk, timber must undergo a heat treatment process in line with ISPM15 regulations in which, the timber is heated to a core temperature of 56OC for a minimum of 30 minutes.

ISPM15 compliance acts as a passport for timber packaging when crossing international borders, allowing traceability and verification that the packaging has been heat treated in accordance with regulations. We were the first company in our industry to supply ISPM15 packaging hence our FC0001 registration number and offer unrivalled expertise regarding ISPM15 compliant timber transit packaging.
